KMJ Law is a small firm in Randolph County, Alabama that handles family law, criminal defense, estate planning and probate, real estate closings and small business representation. Kesa M. Johnston and Luke Farmer have handled many complex custody actions and criminal cases including capital murder defense. Kesa regularly serves clients in East Alabama including Cleburne, Clay, Calhoun, Randolph, Chambers and Lee counties.

Because of her personal experience, Kesa has a particular interest in educating clients as to the process, providing regular case status updates and addressing concerns as they arise. Kesa is an aggressive defender who will do what is necessary to protect the constitutional rights of the accused. Kesa has many years of experience and a great deal of training from nationally renowned universities including certification in capital murder defense, DUI, theft and drug crimes.

Real Estate closings at the Law Firm of Kesa M. Johnston are handled by professionals that have decades of combined experience. All parties are made aware of the status of closing requests and we work diligently to meet deadlines in an efficient manner. In addition to closings KMJ Law drafts deeds, purchase agreements and handles property disputes.

Kesa’s office is sensitive to those matters and helps clients navigate the probate arena by providing Estate planning documents, assisting with probate of wills, and negotiating with debt collectors. Mary McHone Brown joined KMJ Law in October 2010. Mary has over 30 years of knowledge and experience researching property titles and performing real estate closings in Chambers, Randolph, Cleburne, Lee, Clay and other East Alabama counties.

Legal Assistant

Laura Moore is originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, but moved to Roanoke after marrying her husband Lew. Laura graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia in 2005 and later received her Bachelor of Science degree in Building Science for Auburn University in 2011.
